Made for watching
Inspired by birdcages and modular playgrounds, this site-specific installation challenges standardized notions of safety, play, and observation. Historically, urban playgrounds emerged as protected spaces, evolving from community-built, nature-oriented sites to highly industrialized, repetitive environments. Through deliberate spatial ambiguity, disrupted visual logic, and shifting scales between adult, child, and bird, the work actively blurs distinctions between observer and observed. Artificial nature elements and animal-like components further confuse boundaries between real and imitation. Ultimately, the installation invites participants to reclaim playful, spontaneous exploration beyond prescribed forms and rules.
